Senate race between former Govs. Tim Kaine (D) George Allen (R) since Nov. 1, groups opposed to Kaine have outspent groups opposed to Allen by more than $1 million, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, which tracks campaign spending in the state.
The top spenders against Kaine, according to VPAP, have spent a combined $1.44 million in advertising and media buys in the final week heading into Tuesday general election.
According to VPAP Independence Virginia made $700,000 buy for broadcast and radio advertising and for online and digital media Nov. 2 Breitling watches against Kaine; and the National Republican Senatorial Committee spent $440,000 for media on Nov. 1.
The top spenders against Allen spent a combined $339,875 since Nov. 1.
According to VPAP United Food Commercial Workers spent $240,000 against Allen for TV advertising on Nov. 2; and the Majority PAC made a $99,875 media buy on Nov. fake watches 2.
